Bethel College Mennonite Church , a member of Mennonite Church USA , is located at the corner of E. 26th St. and College Avenue on the Bethel College campus in North Newton , Kan. Our average Sunday morning worship attendance is more than 300, and we feature Sunday school classes for all ages. Music and the arts are important elements in our worship, which often includes a variety of vocal and hand bell choirs, organ, piano, strings and brass instrumentation, as well as readers’ theater and dramatic readings. Yet the work of the body of Christ is not confined to Sundays. Our outreach efforts include a playschool, service projects and other activities. We invite you to visit and join us in praise, worship and service to God.

June 21 Following Jesus in a world that is not  - sermon by Ruth R. Harder and music by the Kliewer brothers

"Living in the Empire" worship series on June 14, 21, 28 and July 5 will focus on National Identity:  the promise and peril of living as faithful Christians in America.  Using materials published by Mennonite Church USA (in response to the National Identity Resolution passed by San Jose 2007 delegates--see box below), Ruth R. Harder will preach on three Hebrew Bible "outsiders" who find themselves at the heart of their respective empires:  Joseph in Egypt, Esther in Persia and Daniel in Babylon.  Fred Obold will conclude the series on July 5.  Following texts are suggested:  Genesis 41:1-57, 45:1-28; the book of Esther; the book of Daniel (with emphasis on chapters 1-6); 1 Thessalonians 1:1-10 and Matthew 22:15-22.

National Identity resolution passed by San Jose 2007 delegates:  As a recently-created national body of Mennonites, we call upon the Executive Board to formulate a process that helps us explore our identity as Mennonites living in what many consider to be the wealthiest and most powerful nation on earth. We ask for resources that help us live faithfully in Christ-like ways, sometimes at odds with our national culture, acknowledging that no culture is either completely redeemed or completely fallen.
